WHO AM I?
I am a homeschooler to my 3 boys. I was previously a secondary school teacher specialising in Chemistry and Mathematics for 10 odd years. Alhamdulillah, the years both in school and at home have taught me to approach science in different ways in order for the children to understand what was being delivered besides just facts.
WHAT IS IT?
4 days worth of 1+3 STEAM lessons
Our workshop will include one theory lesson that is fun and interactive without being content heavy. It will be followed by 3 STEAM lessons that will be open-ended and promotes practice-based learning with a child-centered learning environment. Our aim is to develop a deeper understanding and love of science concepts without merely swallowing facts.
CHARACTER BUILDING FOCUS using Habits of Mind Principles
While learning Science is one of the objectives, our highest priority is to provide opportunities that fosters the love and challenge of learning while promoting and teaching good character values.
WHERE IS IT?
Classes are purely drop-off sessions and will be held in the comfort of my home at Tampines (exact address will be informed once payment and confirmation has been made).
WHEN IS IT?
It will be 1.5 hours, weekly, for the 4 consecutive Saturdays – 12 Jan, 19 Jan, 26 Jan, 02 Feb.
WHO IS IT FOR?
This workshop is recommended for children 7 years old and up. If they are younger but you think he/she is ready, hop on over. You know your child best, insyaAllah!
